Expressing Myself

I’d like to take some time to express a little about myself. For the past two years my life has really been through a rough change, but in the end it’s made me a stronger individual. My views now are not what they were two years ago nor are they the views I had as a rebellious 16 year old.

I say that because when I was 16 I had a view of the world that was just not right. My grandma kept telling me “Michael as you get older your view of others and the world will change, just watch.” I used to laugh at her and tell her she was nuts, but now I’m eating my own words. She was right, everything about me has changed, I’m more understanding, and more open minded than I was 6 or 7 years ago, but it’s the last two years that have really impacted me.

I was raised in the church, and became a Christian. That hasn’t changed, what has is my view of Christianity, and politics. I will not go into detail about my belief as this is not the place for such talks. Though if asked I will share, as for politics, I was raised Republican, and supported George W. Bush in 2000, and 2004, but it wasn’t until recently that my view changed, and I realized that I was a Democrat not a Republican. Many people of my faith detest my views, but I say who are they to judge me. I simply cannot support a party that wants to continue down the same path Bush was leading.
